Saturday 28 March 2020 at 7:30 p.m. CANCELLED

Sadly, this concert has been cancelled.

We have not taken this step lightly and had all been working hard to prepare for what promised to be an exciting concert. We still hope to perform the pieces sometime in the near future, but the health and well-being of our choir members, soloists, musicians and audience is paramount.

Honegger – King David.

Bernstein – Chichester Psalms.

Colin Baines – Conductor.

Birmingham Choral Union Orchestra

Elgar Concert Hall, University of Birmingham, B15 2TT.

Featuring:

Timothy Bentinck narrator

(David Archer from The Archers)

Jack Parry tenor

Maria-Alexandra Anusca soprano

Samantha Lewis mezzo-soprano

Aidan Forde treble

A rare chance to experience two 20th century masterpieces; Leonard Bernstein’s moving and dramatic Chichester Psalms, together with Honegger’s quirky and tuneful King David. Soloists and a small orchestra complete the ensemble.

We are delighted to welcome Timothy Bentinck (David Archer from The Archers on BBC Radio 4) who will present the dramatic narration in King David. Not to be missed!
